    VARIASI DERAJAT TOLERANSI TANAMAN PADI TERHADAP CEKAMAN ALUMINIUM BERDASARKAN PEWARNAAN HEMATOKSILIN

    The aim of this research was to analyze of rice aluminum (Al) tolerance level using histochemical staining. Histochemical staining of roots using hematoxylin showed dark purple color on 1 mm region of Al-treated root apices. The root tips of Al-sensitive rice genotype (IR64 and Krowal) tended to dark purple, contranstly the root tips of Al-tolerant rice genotype (Grogol and Hawara Bunar) did not stained. Based on histochemical staining, Al treatment 12-15 ppm for 72 hours at pH 4.0 can be used to determine level of Al tolerance in rice
