Item ANALISA SIFAT MAGNETIK DAN UKURAN PARTIKEL PASIR ALAM SUNGAI ROKAN DISINTESIS DENGAN BALL MILLING(2021-02) Rahmadani, Fitri; Salomo, SalomoThis research is about the magnetic properties and particle size of natural sand in the Rokan River, Riau Province. The natural sand samples were dried under the sun and separated from the rocks that followed the sand subsequently. Sand was separated among magnetic particles and non-magnetic particles by using an Iron Sand Separator (ISS). Coreless and core magnetic induction were measured using the Pasco PS-2162 Probe. Solenoid was made of 2500 coils with a 10 length and a 3 cm diameter. Coreless magnetic induction was measured as a function of currents 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 A with a 1 mm constant distance. The separated samples were decayed by using ball milling for 30, 60, 80 and 100 hours subsequently, then separated again using Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) and the magnetic induction value was measured using Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) and measured particles using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The results showed that the remanent magnetization value of the natural sand of the Rokan River which had been crushed by ball milling for 30 hours and 100 hours were 1,15 emu/g and 0,5 emu/g by the coercivity of 117,52 Oe and 227,34 Oe, and saturation magnetization of 1,3 emu/g and 0,6 emu/g. The results of the research for the natural sand particles of Rokan River that had been crushed for 30 hours and 100 hours were 231 nm and 96 nm.Item SINTESIS DAN KARAKTERISASI KOMPOSIT ZnO/BENTONIT DENGAN BANTUAN GELOMBANG MIKRO SERTA UJI FOTODEGRADASI TERHADAP METHYLENE BLUE(Elfitra, 2023-01) Rahmadani, Fitri; Tamboesai, Emrizal MahidinZnO semiconductor is a metal oxide which has applications in the field of photodegradation. Some of the advantages of ZnO are small particle size, high exchange reaction activity and efficiency in the UV light region, however the ZnO catalyst has a large band gap energy and is difficult to separate from water after the photocatalytic reaction limits its application in the treatment of water polluted with dyes. In this study, the ZnO/Bentonite composite was synthesized using microwave assistance which was used as a catalyst for the photodegradation test of methylene blue dye. XRD characterization showed that the crystal structure obtained had a hexagonal shape with a 10 g ZnO/Bentonite composite crystal size of 18,85 nm. The results of UV-DRS characterization showed that there was a decrease in the band-gap energy from 3,21 eV on ZnO to 2,21 eV on 10 gram ZnO/Bentonite composite. The synthesis results were then tested for photodegradation of methylene blue and it was concluded that the ZnO/Bentonite composite could degrade 10 ppm methylene blue with a catalyst mass of 0,15 gram of 98,35 % within 140 minutes.
