Second is to help protect and enhance societal values by training young people in the values which form the basis of democratic citizenship and by providing critical and detached perspectives to assist in the discussion of strategic options and the reinforcement of humanistic perspectives.1 These missions clearly show that university has socio-economic mandates within its tri-dharma activities (teaching, research and community services) tocontribute to the enhancement of socio, political, humanistic and cultural and economic values, and science and technology development.
