Abstract
The Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Arifin Achmad Pekanbaru, has installed a
Linear Accelerator (LINAC) radiotherapy facility since 2009. Mapping of radiation
intensity around LINAC is needed to anticipate the effects caused by radiation
sources on workers, patients and the community in the installation environment. This
study aims to estimate the accumulated radiation dose received by workers at the
Radiotherapy Installation of RUSD Arifin Ahmad Pekanbaru. Mapping of radiation
dose rates around the radiotherapy radiation source is made based on the isodosis
curve of the measurement of the radiation dose rate of the LINAC radiotherapy. Data
were collected at 16 measuring points around the LINAC in a measuring field of 10
m x 10 m. Measurement of radiation dose rate was carried out using a Surveymeter
when the LINAC was operating with an absorption dose of 300 MU (monitor unit)
with the gantry positions of 0 °, 90 °, 180 ° and 270 °. The radiation dose rate map
was made using Surfer software. The measurement results show that points A and B
which are at the entrance to the radiation chamber experience the largest dose rate
when the gantry angle is 0, with the total radiation dose rate in the radiotherapy
installation ranging from (0.92 to 3.23) mSv per year. The radiation dose rate is still
below the deterministic effect threshold. Therefore, it can be concluded that the
radiation effect received by workers and the community around the radiotherapy
installation is a stochastic effect
