dc.description.abstractChalcone compounds have an important role as antibacterial compounds. These compounds can be synthesized by reaction between the derivative asetofenon with benzaldehid derivatives in absolute ethanol and catalyzed by sodium hydroxide. The resulting compounds were characterized by IR and NMR spectroscopy then tested against three strains of bacteria namely Staphylococcus aereus. Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli which is a type of Gram positive and Gram negatifeen_US
