dc.description.abstractThis nal project discusses an iterative method that uses geometric construction to solve a nonlinear equation. The method is obtained by consructing the curve of a third degree monic polynomial function that approximates the curve of the nonlinear equation. The convergence analysis shows that the iterative method has third-order of convergence. Some numerical examples are given to demonstrate the performance of the new iterative method by comparing with some well-known iterative methods.en_US
