Abstract
The research aim for examined the ability of algae Chlorella pyrenoidosa
at various concentration to reduced contaminant of rubber waste. The research
was conducted on December 2011 till February 2012 at Biology PMIPA
laboratorium, Riau University. Completely Randomized Design was applied in
this research, four concentration of algae 0%, 12.5%, 18.75%, and 25%, with 3
times repeated and observed of BOD, COD, TSS, pH, density of algae, oxygen
level (DO), and CO2. Data were analyzed by ANAVA and DMRT at level 5%.
The result indicated that algae Chlorella pyrenoidosa have potential to reduced
contaminant of waste rubber, the best potential of alga to reduce contaminant of
rubber waste was at 25 % concentration of algae.
