Abstract

This research aims to improve lecturing process and see if there is an increase in student learning outcomes Linear Programming of mathematical education courses in second semester 2010/2011 which amounted to 29 people, after the applied QSH strategy in directly learning model. Research is motivated by the passive student in lecturing process and awareness of lecturer to improve learning process. Most of students rarely even never ask questions about things that they have not understood properly. This can disrupt the learning process because of linear program of learning materials related to each other. This resulted in learning outcomes obtained are still far from expected. This research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which consists of two cycles. Collection techniques data in this research done by observation and testing techniques. Observation sheets were analyzed by using descriptive narrative that aims to describe the activities of lecturer and students during the learning process takes place, while the linear program learning outcome data were collected through student learning outcomes tests that cover material Linear Programming with doing the quiz, midterm tests and end of semester test were analyzed using basic statistical analysis and analysis of the average value, to determine the increase in student learning outcomes. The results showed the application of QSH learning strategies in the Learning Directly model can improve learning outcomes scores of Linear Program which acts on the second cycle produces better than the learning outcomes score of the learning in cycle I. Positive things are perceived by students during the act is can be increase the activity, interaction between students with students, students with lecturer, practicing the skills of expression and respect the opinions of others, and think positive about another student who gave the measures.
