Abstract
The research was motivated by the low interest in vocational students to
follow the learning Tigama Pekanbaru in Civics. It is seen from 20 students 13
(65%) felt less at ease in the learning process Civics and 12 students (60%) less
attention in following the learning process. Formulation of the problem is whether
there is influence of the use of learning models Talking Stick (Walking Sticks) on
student interest Civics class X SMK Tigama Pekanbaru. population in this study
were all students of class X SMK Tigama Pekanbaru, amounting to 40 students.
While the sampling technique using sampling random. The study was conducted
in class X which consists of two classes totaling 40 students, while a class is a
class X sample Hotre I totaled 20 students of class X and Hotre II totaled 20
students. Data were collected through observation, documentation, literature
study and observation sheets. Data were analyzed with analysis of inferential
statistical tests were used: (different test) t test. Results showed students' interest
in the experimental class (X Hotre II) was higher than the control class (X Hotre
I), before treated an average interest in the experimental class (X Hotre II) are 11
and 19.9 after treatment. While the control class (X Hotre I) the average interest
of 11.5 before treatment after treatment while the average interest is 16.8. When
viewed from the statistical analysis by t test, the obtained t of 6,79, then the value
of t compared with ttabel value with significance level (α) of 5% = 0.05 df = n1 +
n2 - 2 = t table value is 1.68. Thus that there are differences in interest in
learning civics class interest in learning experiments with control classes due to
the use of learning models Talking Stick (Walking Sticks).
