Abstract
ABSTRACT
Autism is a condition of the child from birth or infancy when the child
causing the child is not able to form normal social relationships or
communication, resulting in isolation of the other and enter the world of
repetitive, obsessive activities and interests. These symptoms begin to appear
from birth or childhood, usually before the age of 3 years. As for how to be a
"normal" is to therapies. As well as family intervention in the process of
socialization in everyday life. Because, the life and behavior of children with
autism in daily reflect socialization processes carried out by the family.
This study uses qualitative methods. Data collection techniques used
were questionnaires as the primary method and observation as a method of
support. The number of subjects in this study were 15 respondents who have
children with autism attend Permata Hati Foundation Pekanbaru.
Results from the study showed that the effect of therapy and family
functions determine the development of autistic children. Reception is very
diverse family of the condition of children with autism disorder is. The higher
the rejection rate, the longer the period of reorganization to do families in the
intervention against children. The fewer gaps and diversity issues in the
family will be able to help more optimal intervention intensity. To support the
increasing socialization of children with autism, parents should be more
active in seeking information about autism and how to improve socialization.
