The noise become a big issue/problem in the communities who have lived near the road. More the noise has effect to uncomfortable in an environment. The sound absorber is used to reducing the noise. There are mainly four types of sound absorption materials that can be used to reduce the noise where one of them is porous absorber. The sound absorption quality is represented by sound absorption coefficient ( ). If the sound absorption coefficient is 0, there is no absorption of sound. The sound absorption is more better when its coefficient approaching to 1. If sound absorption coefficient is 1, 100% of sound is absorbed by material[1]. The sound absorption coefficient in materials is defined as fraction or percentage of absorbed energy to incident energy. This experiment used an impedance tube kit to obtain frequency and sound absorption coefficient. An impedance tube kit is used in this experiment to obtain frequency and sound absorption coefficient. Result of the experiment indicated more thickness of sample absorber was gained best of the sound absorption. Based on the experiment resulted concrete block-coarse 30 mm revealed the highest absorption coefficient rate, hence it was the best alternative of material absorber to reduce the noise on road transportation.en_US
