Abstract
Chemical constituent has been isolated from the dry aerial parts of rimbang (Solanum
torvum). The finely chopped material was extracted with methanol then fractionated
into different polarity of solvent ; hexane, and ethil acetate. Separated done with colom
chromatography at silica gel-60 by step gradien polarity. 345,96 mg of colourless
needles (Melting point 144-1460Celcius) has been isolated from hexane fraction. Based
on Liberman Burchard and Roseinhein reagen, spectrum ultraviolet and spectrum infra
red, it was identified as steroid that have double bonding conjugation and -OH function
