Abstract
The oyster mushroom cultivation process is influenced by several factors, one of which
is pests and diseases. Pest and disease attacks on oyster mushrooms have the potential to
reduce production and even cause crop failure. The knowledge technique possessed by
farmers has several shortcomings, one of the most important is the process of determining
pests and diseases in oyster mushroom plants. In this study, it is possible to design and
create an expert system for diagnosing diseases in oyster mushroom plants, and provide
information on disease symptoms in oyster mushroom plants so that they can provide
prevention for farmers. A web-based expert system can be used to help solve problems
related to diagnosis for handling pests and diseases on oyster mushroom plants
appropriately and effectively. The method used to diagnose pests and diseases on oyster
mushroom plants is the certainty factor method, because this method can provide a
certainty value of a disease against the symptoms that arise. This method can also identify
how to treat a symptom. The results of the calculation of certainty factor are the results
of the diagnosis of pests and diseases on oyster mushroom plants, as well as the first
solution to overcome these pests and diseases. With this expert system, it can help users
to make early detection and find out temporary diagnoses of pests and diseases in oyster
mushroom plants..
