Abstract
Biosynthesis of silver (Ag) nanoparticles has been carried out by reacting pineapple peel extract as a reductant
and 5 mM AgNO3 solution. The nanoparticle synthesis process was done at a temperature of 80oC for 30 minutes.
The obtained nanoparticles were characterized using UV-Vis spectrophotometer and FTIR to study their optical
properties and functional groups. The UV-Vis absorption spectrum showed the formation of nanoparticles which
is indicated by the appearance of the absorbance peak at a wavelength of 406 nm. The FTIR spectrum shows the
optical absorption of functional groups O-H, C=O, and C≡C which is the polyphenol content of pineapple peel
extract
