Abstract
This research is conducted in Riau province. The aim of this research is to depict and
knowing deforestation factors in Riau province. This research contains primary and
secondary data. Secondary data comes from some institutions. They are Biro Pusat
Statistik (BPS), Forestry Department, plantation. Writer used quantitative descriptive with
multiple linear regression to analyze the data. The result shows palm plantation area,
PDRB, the increasing number of population every year, while the most significant factors
of deforestation is wood extraction
