Abstract

The hijab phenomenon for a sum of teenagers needs to be paid attention nowadays, especially how they use hijab and the way of their looking are important things in making up the body to show their self identity. The performance is connected with dress or clothes which are worn by somebody. From the clothes or dress, someone can evaluate how the person is, because the performance describes someone’s character. By the time, the meaning of hijab could have changed. Especially for Muslim student of Darussakinah where this school requires the students to use hijab both inside and outside of the school. This research is done to know what causes the Muslim student often to break the hijab rule and how the background of Muslim student who often breaks the hijab rule, and the last to know the factors that influence Muslim students of Darussakinah who often break the hijab rule. The respondent of this research is listed student or Muslim student from Darussakinah Muslim Boarding School that have broken the rule of using hijab, they are class of Ia, Ib, IIa, IIb, MTS (Madrasah Tsanawiyah). Their reason for breaking the rule not to use hijab when going out is because they are lazy, sultry or hot, complicated by using hijab to go out, beside that they tell that they are not confident to use hijab when going out. So the influence of hijab rule on the Muslim student’s behavior of Darussakinah Muslim Boarding School is seen when they are out of the school time. Their behavior always becomes public speaking. Tighter school rule makes Muslim students struggle, oppose to the teacher or Muslim teacher, and do truant. This rebellion is caused because the lack of controlling from family, school and society.
