Abstract

Research with the use of Microsoft Office Powerpoint media through STAD cooperative learning model type on the subject of Atomic Structure and the Periodic System implemented in SMA Negeri 1 Base Kerinci X class first semester (odd) school year 2011/2012. The purpose of this study to determine whether the use of Microsoft Office Powerpoint media through STAD type learning model to improve student learning outcomes. Data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis techniques to form experimental research with pretest and posttest design. The sample consisted of two classes, a class of eight homogenous. Sample selection is done by lottery, a class X-3 as the experimental class and class X-2 as a control class. Based on the statistical analysis of the t-test can be concluded that the use of media through Microsoft Office Powerpoint type STAD cooperative learning model on experimental class to improve student learning outcomes by 14.54%. Thus it can be said that the use of Microsoft Office Powerpoint media through STAD learning model type provide a positive influence on students' level of understanding on the subject of Atomic Structure and the Periodic System.
