dc.description.abstract Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Make a Match untuk Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Matematika Siswa Kelas V SD Negeri 161 Pekanbaru Gusti Maharani. Y1, Jesi Alexander Alim2, Zariul Antosa3 ABSTRACT The problem in this research was the students’ motivation in learning mathematics of the fifth year of State elementary school 161 Pekanbaru categorized low with motivation mean score 2,13 and motivation achievement level only 53.3%. The students did not have enthusiasm and not being active in expressing their opinion. Moreover, there was no variation during teaching and learning process. For this reasons, it was needed to do a research by implementing cooperative type Make a Match learning model . In this cooperative type Make a match learning model, the students look for her / his pair and learn a concept. This activity created the comfortable situation in learning and built a good emotional relation, made students to be motivated during the learning. Classroom action research (CAR), aimed to improve the students’ motivation in learning mathematics of the fifth year of State Elementary School 161 Pekanbaru. The data of this research were qualitative and quantitative data. The formulation of the problem was “can the implementation of cooperative learning model type Make a Match improve the students’ motivation in learning mathematics of the fifth year of state elementary school 161 pekanbaru?” The quantitative data was the students’ score of knowledge and understanding cycle test. The qualitative data was the quality of students’ motivation test through questionnaires in each cycle. After doing questionnaire test in cycle I, the students’ learning motivation was improved about 0, 75 (35.2%) from the basic score of students’ learning motivation became 2.85 with high category. In the cycle II, the students’ learning motivation was improved about 0.47 (16.5) from the cycle I became 3.32 with very high category. From the result of Cycle I and Cycle II, it can be concluded that the implementation of cooperative type Make a March Learning can improve the students’ motivation in learning mathematics of the fifth year of State Elementary School 161 Pekanbaru. en_US
