Abstract:
This research points to the using of Macromedia Flash MX as teaching media to
improve first year students’ study achivement for Hidrokarbon topic at Government Senior
High School 2 Siak Hulu. The purpose of this research is to know the improvement of first
year students’ study achivement by using Macromedia Flash MX as teaching media for
Hidrokarbon topic at government senior high school 2 Siak Hulu and also to know how much
improvement can be reached. The sampel is X6 as a experimental class and X8 is as a control
class. Homogeinity test as a research requirement, taken from the result of the previous lesson
test (Reduction and Oxidation Reaction). The data of hypothesis test has been taken after the
treatment was given, where treatment of using Macromedia Flash MX as teaching media was
given to the experimental class and treament of conventional teaching was given to the control
class. The taken data is the difference of result between postest an pretest. From the analyzing
data was discovered that using Macromedia Flash MX as teaching media could improve students’
study achivement about 10,87%
