Abstract
This study aims to improve learning outcomes of social studies lesson on fifth grade students of Elementary School 161 Pekanbaru through the implementation of cooperative learning model with Numbered Head Together type by using class action study. This study will be done in two cycles where the first cycle consisted of two meetings while the second cycle was also two meetings and twice ending tests. Based on the study results, it could be concluded that the application of Cooperative Learning type Numbered Head Together Model improve learning outcomes of social studies lesson on the fifth grade students of Elementary School 161 Pekanbaru. The results of data analysis can be seen from the activities of teachers during the learning process on the first cycle with a mean of 71% with a good category. While on the second cycle, the learning outcomes of social studies lesson increased to 91% with very good category. Activities of the students during the learning process in the first cycle with a mean 66% with good category. While on the second cycle it increased to 87% with very good category. The class completeness on the basic score is 40.00% with the mean learning outcomes is 64. Whilst class completeness after action is 87.5% with the mean learning outcome is 84. From the above explanation it can be seen that the application of Cooperative Learning type Numbered Head Together Model can increase learning outcomes of fifth grade students of Elementary School 161 Pekanbaru with the school year 2011/2012. |
