Abstract:
This research explains about strategy of Indonesia as a producer of crude palm oil (CPO) in face of the EU Renewable Energy Policy 2009-2012. Palm oil is one of commodity Indonesian agribusiness in increasing economic growth. Become imported raw materials for transportation sector renewable energy source that makes this commodities more developed by the Indonesian government. Impact of negative issues campaigned by NGOs and the published policy of EU renewable energy because exports and productivity of Indonesian palm oil decreased in the range of 2007-2009. Regulation in the EU renewable energy policy of 2009/28/EC that includes criteria for the production and use of vegetable oil (Biodiesel) that affect the Indonesian palm oil exports to the European Union, because of the Indonesian palm oil production does not meet the standards and criteria set by the European Union's renewable energy policy. This research also shows the implementation of the strategy and policy of the Indonesian government to improve the quality and competitiveness of the Indonesian palm oil industry and the development of sustainable palm oil in Indonesia, lately
