Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to improve the results of a fourth grade social studies
learning SDN 29 Tasik Serai Timur Kecamatan Pinggir. The research problem is the
application of Cooperative Learning Model Is type Group Investigation (GI) can improve
the learning outcomes of student’s social studies class IV SD Negeri 29 Tasik Serai
Timur in the subject matter Kecamatan Pinggir understanding of technology, production
technology, communication technology and transportation technology and social issues.
The research was conducted in two cycles with each cycle of 2 meetings. Research data
to increase student learning outcomes, which before the measures Investigation of 25
students, 11 students (44%) were completed while 14 people (66%) are still not
completely in the learning and still below the expected value of the average values
obtained by students 68.36 is still under KKM. After the act of Cooperative Learning
Model type Group Investigation increase of 68.36 basic score increased to 77.6, an
increase of 9:24 in the first cycle, whereas from the first cycle to the second cycle
increased by 5.4 to 83. Activities of students during the learning process (first cycle and
second cycle) categorized very good with an average 97.2% in the first cycle and 98.7%
in the second cycle with an increase of 1.5%. It can be concluded that the hypothesis of
this study when applied learning models Cooperative Study Group Investigation can
improve learning outcomes IPS fourth grade students of SDN 29 East Tasik Serai
