Abstract:
Based on result of student learning of class Junior High School eighth
grade students Sorek Dua Second Semester Academic Year 2012/2013 ±
56.7% of 30 students the score is low (not satisfying yet) that is under KKM
(Complete Minimal Criteria 71) especially social lesson, this case is because
of method that is applied by the teacher in conveying lesson is lack of
variation. The success of learning doesn’t only depend on student, but also
teacher role. In order social lesson becomes active, creative, afektive and
interesting, teacher should do some ways. One of evective way is through
implementation of learning using inquiry method . This research is aimed in
finding out how big the influence of inquiry method in improving the result of
student learning of class Junior High School eighth grade students Sorek
Two. The student consist of class VIII A the number of student is 30 students
as experimental class and class VIII B the number is 28 student as control
class. Consists of two actions, they are pre-test (before implementing
method) and pos-test (after implementing method). Before action given, the
result isn’t satisfying. The result of class VIII B is higher than class VIII A
even they are given the same material and method. So that, inquiry learning
method is applied. After post-test given to both class, where experimental
class (VIII A) uses inquiry method and control class (VIII B) stay using old
method. The result is very satisfying. Where occurring the improvement of
the result of class VIII A as many as 90% of 30 students until it is above CCM
of class VIII B as many as 86,7%.
