Abstract

This study aims to determine who profile groups of farmer and the ability of the group of farmers in supporting the development of Horticulture (Vegetables) in the village of Sidomulyo Barat, Tampan District Pekanbaru. Methods of research conducted by survey data collection system with simple random sampling, in which semi Structured conducted to 36 sampelts, which consisted of 3 groups of administrators farmer and 3 of the members of the group farmers who are members of groups farmers engaged in horticulture (vegetables) Charming villages Sidomulyo Barat Tampan District Pekanbaru City. date collected, analyzed quantitative and d eskriptif using Likert Scale's Summated Rating (SLR. Researchers used five variables, namely the ability to plan, ability to organize, ability to perform, the ability to control and reporting, as well as leadership development ability. Variables each consisting of several indicators and ability of groups farmer. vegetables seen in supporting the development of the three indicators, namely classroom learning, vehicle for collaboration and production units. The results showed that the level of existing group of farmmer in Sidomulyo Barat them group of farmmer Subur Makmur, Baskara Jati and Mitra in the category of "high", The group farmmer means already to function properly, however some existing group of farmmer in village there are still included in the category "Medium" is group farmmer Bunga Sari, Harapan Jaya and Swadaya Mandiri.
