Abstract:
The problem in the research was the low achievement of students in studying IPA in
IVD class of Elementary School 183 Pekanbaru, with an average score was 62,26 in
daily tests. Learning outcomes of students as low as stiil below the standards set by
the school KKM was 75. The low yield due to student learning used by teacher quite
right. Based on the problems it was necessary to fint the solution that was solving by
applying Problem Based Learning model. The study aims to improve student
learning outcomes of IPA in IVD class of Elementary School 183 Pekanbaru. The
research in the form of class research. The subjects were IVD garders totaling 34
students, which consisted of 17 male students and 17 female students. The results
showed that by applying the Problem Based Learning model could improve science
learning outcomes of students, on the basis of the average score of the students was
62,26 increase at UH I to 72,79, an increase from previous test scores by 10,53%.
UH II on the average value of student learning outcomes to be 77,64, an increase
from UH I to UH II by 4,85%. UH on the average value of student learning outcomes
was 85,14, an increase from UH II to UH III by 7,5%. Results of analysis in the
average activity of teachers in the first cycle was 70% and increase in the second
cycle to 82,5%, an increase from the previous teacher activity by a margin of
12,50%. In the third cycle, the activity of teachers was 92,5%, an increase from the
second cycle to third cycle by a margin of 10%. Results of analysis in the average
activities students in the first cycle was 65% and increased in the second cycle was
77,5%, an increase from previous student activity by a margin of 12,50%. In the
third cycle student activity was 87,5%, an increase from the second cycle to third
cycle by a margin of 10,00%. Meaning the application of Problem Based Learning
Model could improve students learning outcomes of IPA in IVD class of Elementary
School 183 Pekanbaru.
