Abstract:
The problem in this study is the low learning result IPS fourth grade students of SDN 74
Pekanbaru due to lack of students responded to the teacher, because teachers generally use the
lecture method. lack of student motivation in learning to follow, since most teachers do not engage
students in learning. This study aims to improve learning result IPS fourth grade students of SDN
74 Pekanbaru via the "Application Model Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL)". Instrument
data collection in this thesis is a test of student learning result and teacher observation checklist
and student activities. The research was conducted in February and March 2013 were carried out
as many as 3 cycles. The subjects were 74 fourth grade students of SDN Pekanbaru, amounting to
40 students. Teacher activity cycle I first encounter with a percentage of 56.25% with enough
categories, the first cycle of the second meeting of 62.5% either category, then the first meeting of
the second cycle percentage 75% either category, the second meeting of the second cycle category
81.25% very good and The first meeting of the third cycle percentage of 87.5% is very good
category, the second meeting of the third cycle of 93.75% with a very good category. While the
Student Activity cycle I first encounter enough percentage of 56.35% category, the second meeting
of the first cycle of 62.5% both categories, the first meeting of the second cycle category of either
68.75%, the second meeting of the second cycle 75% better and last category III meeting cycle The
first category of percentage of 87.5% is very good, the second meeting of the third cycle of 93.75%
is very good category. The average results of study on the basis of 58 score increased in the first
cycle 64.37 and the second cycle 70.12 and rise again on the third cycle 76.5. From the base score
to UH I have increased the percentage (10.98%) and from the base score to UH II percentage
(20.89%) and the final score to UH III base increased to (31.89%). In studying the classical
completeness results reached 95% in classical declared complete. It can be concluded that in this
study if applicable models Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL) to improve learning result
IPS fourth grade students of SDN 74 Pekanbaru acceptable.
