Abstract:
This study aims to 1)knowing description emotional intelligence grade of
students who are having self problems class XI IPS before group counseling organize.
2)knowing description emotional intelligence grade of students who are having self problems
class XI IPS after group counseling organize. 3)knowing the difference before and after
group counselling organize to emotional intelligence grade of students who are having self
problems 4)knowing the effect before and after group counselling organize to emotional
intelligence grade of students who are having self problems. Data collection using the form of
questionnaires. The population in this research is the students have self problems XI IPS,
amounting to 35 people. Determining sampling of students scoring medium and low
emotional intelligence (purposive sampling). A description of emotional intelligence before
given group counselling in average category is 86.7%, and low category is 13.3%. A
description of emotional intelligence after given group counselling in a average category is
80%, and high category is 20%. Based on the calculation of the correlation coefficient
