dc.description.abstract Background: Tonsilofaringitis is a inflammation of the oropharynx and palatine tonsil and most often caused by Gram-positive bacteria such as Streptococcus β-hemolyticus group A, Streptococcus pyogenes and Streptococcus viridians. Research Goals: This research was to determine the type and the dominant bacteria in tonsilofaringitis. Methode: The sample was the swab of entire population of patients that diagnosed tonsilofaringitis and already asked to fill out informed consent. variables in this study were Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria on tonsilofaringitis. The variables in this study were Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria on tonsilofaringitis. The Results: Bacteria caused tonsilofaringitis in Gram positive (+) : Staphylococcus aureus 30.3% and Staphylococcus albus 24.2%. In Gram negative (-): Klebsiella sp 6.1%, Enterobacter sp 3.1%, Pseudomonas sp 27.2%, and Proteus sp 9.1%. en_US
