Abstract:
Based on preliminary observations by researchers obtained data that the
evaluation for teaching IPA in class V SDN 71 Pekanbaru, showed only 35
students, 15 students (50%) have not reached the minimum completeness criteria
values is 70 or are in the low category with an average grade of 63.40.
Formulation of the problem in this study is whether the use of visual learning
media can improve student learning output IPA V SDN 71 Pekanbaru? The
purpose of this research is to improve the learning output of students in fifth grade
science semester SDN 71 Pekanbaru learning through the use of visual media.
This study was conducted at SDN 71 Pekanbaru. The subjects were 71 students of
class V SDN Pekanbaru with enrollment of 35 people, consisting of 19 male
students and 16 female students with academic ability are heterogeneous. From
the research, it can be concluded that in detail: 1) Increased activity of teachers in
the first cycle of teacher activity score obtained at 1 meeting by 57% in the second
meeting increased to 68%, in the second cycle 1 meeting obtained a percentage of
79%, in the second meeting by 89% and at the meeting 3 percentage obtained by
93%. 2) The student activity increased, if the first cycle of the second meeting of
the percentage obtained by 69% or by category enough, and the third meeting on
the second cycle of 82% the percentage obtained by either category. 3) It is known
that the learning output of students after learning improvement in the second cycle
for the better, an increase in student learning output from cycle I to cycle II. In the
first cycle of mastery gained by 54% and in the second cycle obtained percentage
of completeness of 86%
