dc.description.abstract This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through the application of the IPA Learning Cycle in Class V students of SD Negeri 106 Pekanbaru Academic Year 2012/2013. Based on the results of observation that has been done, the results show that students learn science is still low at 60.86. To overcome these problems, then applied the model Learning Cycle. Learning Cycle Model is a model of learning in the implementation of student-centered learning activities. Learning cycle is a learning model that is good for a person who lack direct experience in learning. Research design in this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The results of observations on the first cycle after the application of the Learning Cycle showed activity both teachers (67%) and increased in the second cycle (94%) with excellent category. Besides the increase also occurred in the student activities in the first cycle (64%) and increased both again in the second cycle (82.5%) very well. Based on the data analysis of the study results from the average value of student learning outcomes before and after implementation of the Learning Cycle Model showed an increase. Average student scores compared with scores of students before applying foundation Learning Cycle models are 60.86 and have increased after the application of the Learning Cycle to 78.97. And increase learning outcomes that occurred in the first cycle is equal to 30%. Then increased again in the second cycle to 88.10 with an increase of 45%. It can be concluded that the application of the Learning Cycle can improve student learning outcomes in Class V students of SD Negeri 106 Pekanbaru. en_US
