Abstract:
Riau province is a province which has many natural resources especially in agriculture side. In 2010, noted that almost 49, 3% of Riau inhabitant’s job is farmer. Recently, because of the development and the population activities increase, the necessity of wider area is needed; otherwise, the wider area is not available. Currently, the transition function of the area is happen in RimboPanjang village, Tambang district, Kampar regency. The transition types in this area are from agricultural areas is changed into boarding houses, flat houses, factories, and etc.
The objective of this research is to know the responses of pineapple’s smallholders in Rimbo Panjangang to know the actions of the smallholders after the area was transited. The analysis of the theory of this research is the rationality theory and the social action. The method used is descriptive qualitative method within deep interviewed and direct observation in the location of the research.
Based on the result of the field collecting, it can be concluded that the pineapples’ smallholders that had the contract-laborers system considered that the transition of the area is totally disadvantage. The pineapples’ smallholder must also find the new area to keep their going on life or they just will get nothing. For continuing their life, the smallholders take another job. From the result, it can be seen that the reason of the owner transited the area is the high prices of demand of the area
