Abstract:
Clinical student possess greater risk in hepatitis B virus during medical proceeding.
Prevention can be done if they have good knowledge and practice about prevention of
hepatitis B transmission. This study aimed to assess the level of knowledge and practice
regarding prevention of hepatitis B transmission. This study was conducted in December
2012–April 2013. The subject of this study were 80 clinical medical students who meet
inclusion criterias. This study used questionnaires as instruments. The result of this study
showed that there was no clinical student with good knowledge, most of the clinical students
(67,5%) with sufficient knowledge and only 32,5% of the clinical students with a bad
knowledge regarding prevention of hepatitis B transmission. The result of practice
assessment showed that most of clinical students (56,3%) with sufficient category, 43,8% of
the clinical students with good category and there was no student with bad category of
prevention practice.
