GAMBARAN KADAR GULA DARAH PADA PASIEN YANG MENJALANI BEDAH ORTOPEDI DENGAN ANESTESI SPINAL DI RSUD ARIFIN ACHMAD PROPINSI RIAU

Abstract

Anaesthesia and surgery could evoke a stress response. The stress response leads to elevate blood glucose level, hypertension, tachycardia, protein catabolism, suppress the immune system and alter renal function. As well as orthopaedic surgery. Spinal anaesthesia was known to block stress response greater than general anaesthesia by reducing the release of catecholamine and minimizing the neuroendocrine response. The purpose of this study was to illustrate blood glucose level of patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery with spinal anaesthesia. The samples were 31 orthopaedic’s surgery patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criterias. The result shown that 31 patients (100%) had normal blood glucose level in pre-anaesthesia, 30 minutes intra-surgery and post-surgery. The 13 patients (41.94%) had a decrease in blood glucose level from pre-anaesthesia to 30 minutes intra-surgery, the 25 patients (80.65%) had a decrease in blood glucose level from 30 minutes intra-surgery to post-surgery, and the 21 patients (67.74%) had a decrease in blood glucose level from pre-anaesthesia to post-surgery. The results shown that there was a decrease in blood glucose level from pre-anaesthesia to 30 minutes intra-surgery, 30 minutes intra-surgery to post-surgery, and pre-anaesthesia to post-surgery.
