Abstract:
Research conducted is motivated by the alleged lack of narrative writing skills of students. It can be seen from the symptoms that the results of the evaluation before the application of learning by using media images obtained results in the classical series has not reached the KKM was set at 67. The study was conducted action research. Thus, the objectives of this research is to improve the skills of writing a narrative essay using the media image series. This research is descriptive, and research subjects Elementary School fourth grade students Kampar Regency Mines 007. The number of students as research subjects were 26 students. The results showed that: 1) After using series picture media to improve the skills of writing a narrative essay Elementary School fourth grade students Mine Kampar District 007, a satisfactory increase of the average initial value of 54.04 to the end of the first cycle of the mean number prestudy at 61.54 and rose to the level of mastery percentage of 38.46%, including unfavorable category. And at the end of the second cycle of learning gained an average total value of 85.38 and the percentage of completeness rate of 100%, including the very good category. 2) Based on the observation sheet activities of teacher assessment at the end of the first cycle the amount of proceeds obtained a value of 32 and an average of 3.2 or by 80% so that the activities of the teacher at the end of the first cycle are well categorized. And at the end of the second cycle the number of results obtained a value of 35 and an average of 3.5 or 87.5% so that the activities of the teacher at the end of the second cycle are well categorized.
