dc.description.abstract Infection caused by opportunistic intestinal protozoa is infection which commond doesn’t cause disease but on immunocompromaise so will come pathogenic. The purpose of this study was to detect the opportunistic intestinal protozoa infection such us Cryptosporidim sp. on the children patient with diarrhea at Puskesmas Rawat Inap Kota Pekanbaru. Detection of protozoa was carried out the method of staining acid-resistant modification. The design of this research is descriptive. Data was collecting by performing microscopic examination and counted manually. 96 samples were examined 10 samples were found with opportunistic intestinal protozoa. The most frequent of opportunistic intestinal protozoa found was Cryptosporidim sp.( 10,42%). Frequency of Cryptosporidim sp based on the sex was higest in boys (11,32%). Frequency of Cryptosporidim sp. based on the age was higest at 1-3 years old (10%). en_US
