dc.description.abstract Abstract: Handling of instructor competence steady, controlled, directed in order to have the ability to conform to their tasks so that the implementation of tasks can be run smoothly and effectively. See the role of instructors is a major pillar of the system of training in UPT-LK, are required to have the ability to adapt to the development of science and technology and have a competitive edge with other instructors in their field on a national and regional level, in order to encourage efforts to improve the quality and productivity of competence . The purpose of this study was: To investigate and analyze the competence of instructors in the Technical Unit Training (UPT-LK) Pekanbaru and to determine factors that influence competence in Power Instructor Training Technical Implementation Unit (UPT-LK) Pekanbaru. The theory used in this study is Hutapea and Thoha theory about the formation of the main components of competencies ie knowledge, skills and attitudes, while the factors affecting competence and Sunrise Nurmianto theory that training, education and work experience. The method used a qualitative descriptive analysis method is based on trying to explain phenomena that exist, and browse all the facts relating to the issues discussed by the research is the analysis of the influence of competency of instructors UPT-LK Pekanbaru, based on interviews of key informants who know well the competence power-LK UPT instructor at Pekanbaru. Based on the results of research and analysis that has been conducted on this study, several conclusions can be drawn about the competency of instructors Field Mechanical Technology Vocational Training Technical Implementation Unit (UPT-LK) Pekanbaru, there are still some instructors were not mengusai subject matter, while the skills The instructors are very talented and experienced, but the attitude of the student trainee instructors with less harmonious. Factors affecting competence indicators seen from the training, education and experience have all been carried out by the instructor, for over 20 years with time served in UPT Instructor-LK Pekanbaru. en_US
