dc.description.abstract Supercapacitors are renewable energy storage devices consisting of electrodes, electrolytes, current collectors, and separators. In this study, carbon electrodes were made from areca leaf midrib biomass waste with variations by activation using KOH by various concentrations of 0.1 M, 0.2 M and 0.3 M, with the sample codes being PDP-01, PDP-02, PDP-03.The fabrication of carbon electrodes was carried out by several processes, namely pre-carbonization process, chemical activation with KOH activator, carbonization process using N2 gas at a temperature of 600 ⁰C and physical activation using CO2 gas 700 ⁰C. The highest density value is found on the carbon electrode with a sample of PDP-02 with a mass loss percentage value of 36.34%. Supercapacitor cells PDP-01, PDP-02 and PDP-03 produced specific capacitance values of 66.90 F/g, 97.98 F/g, and 77.16 F/g. PDP-02 is the best variation in activated carbon electrodes from palm fiber biomass which can improve the performance of supercapacitor cells. en_US
