Item Reduction Of Tss And Ammonia In The Palm Oil Mill Effluent Using Biosand Filter And Activated Carbon Media For Fish Farming Life(2013-03-22) Yanie, Putri FebricaThis study was conducted from ausgust to december 2012 with factory located in palm oil mill PT.PN V Sei Galuh aimed to determine the effectiveness of organic pollutants reduction in palm oil mill effluent with the biosand filter and activated charcoal for live media farmed fish in palm oil mill effluent treated. Liquid waste from pond application, effluent treated in the reactor biosand filter and activated charcoal, and the results were tested as live media farmed fish. Example (TSS and Ammonia) were taken and analyzed by three point in the DPU and microbiology laboratory and compared with the KepMenLH No. 122 tahun 2004 Lampiran B. The measurement results rated the effectiveness of media processing reactor parameter TSS 47,73 – 78,87 % and ammonia 18,95– 33,49 % while the effectiveness of the reactor without media processing parameter TSS 4,11 – 10,73 % and ammonia 3,52 – 4,2 %. The concentration of TSS and ammonia processing results are below the quality standart. Condition of media processed water is better than without the media with a percentage of 30% in card tilapia 53% and 80% in catfish.
