Item THE CORRELATION BETWEEN THE PERCEPTIONS ON PARENTING STYLE AND ADOLESCENTS’ AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR(FACULTY OF NURSING UNIVERSITAS RIAU, 2020-11-04) Nurafisa, Martina Desri; Lestari, Raja Fitrina; Utami, AgnitaTo determine the relationship between the perception of parenting style toward adolescents’ aggressive behavior. Method: This was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The population was the students of 10 and 11 grade of State Senior High School 10 Pekanbaru. About 168 of them were selected using Cluster Sampling, and questionnaire as the instrument, while the data analysis used a Chi square test. Result: The results showed that 20 respondents perceived authoritarian parenting style with very high aggressive behavior of 13 persons (65.0%), the permissive was perceived by 31 respondents with high aggressive behavior of 21 persons (67.7%), and 100 respondents perceived the democratic with medium aggressive behavior of 45 persons (45%). The result indicated the P-value <0.001, meaning that there was a significant correlation. Conclusion: The school’s stakeholders are expected to monitor the development of students' behavior, and the parents need to be consistent in order to overcome the adolescents' problems.Item Factors That Influence Adolescent Self Confidence(2015-06-20) Jumaini; Elita, Veny; Nauli, Fathra AnnisAdolescence is a developmental stage in the life cycle of humans are susceptible to a variety of mental problems. The existence of the adolescent problems can be attributed to a lack of self-confidence. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors related to adolescent self confidence using descriptive correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. Research conducted in the District of Kulim District Tenayan Raya Pekanbaru City with 100 total respondents. Samples are taken using proportionate stratified random sampling technique that has been requested to complete a questionnaire that has been tested for the validity and reliability. Based on an analysis using Chi-square test, it is obtained that there are significant relationship (p value < 0.05) between the two variables namely parenting style (p value = 0.00) and peers (p value = 0.00) with adolescent self confidence. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested to public health officials to more understand about the various factors that influence adolescent self confidence, which can be used as a basis for providing health education for the increase adolescent self confidence.
