Item KAPUR TOHOR DAN ABU SAWIT SEBAGAI BAHAN TAMBAH ATAU SUBSTITUSI SEMEN PADA MORTAR(2012-11-07) Kurniawandy, Alex; Ismediyanto; Novalina, TettyThe aim of this research is to learn the influence of palm oil fly ash and quick lime with the certain percentage against strength that was produced. Using of the additive or substitution of palm oil fly ash and quick lime can be hoped to save the use of cement in the mortar mixture. Moreover it will be useful to give waste added value of the industry that has not yet made use of optimally especially as the building materials (close the environment). The ratio between cement and sand in this research was 1:3. The specimen was made total 108 samples, the size of specimen is 5x5x5 cm. Palm oil fly ash and quick lime that are used with the percentage 20%, 40%, 60% and 80% against heavy cement, while the composition of palm oil ash fly ash and the lime that is 67.5- 32.5. In the meantime as the standard mortar was made by the mixture of the level of palm oil fly ash with quick lime 0 % and 100%.The results of the research show that the optimum value in the percentage of 20% with strength 202.06 Kg/cm2 (the age 28 days) and 40 % with strength 197.69 kg/cm2 (the age 56 days). While the biggest porosity and absorption value was obtained in mortar with 100% and 80 % palm oil fly ash and quick lime.Item Pengaruh Penambahan Dregs Terhadap Kualitas Mortar(2013-05-07) Darmayanti, Lita; RS, IskandarThe aim of the research was to know the influence of dregs usage in the mortar mixture against quality of mortar that was produced. Dregs is one of solid wastes that was produced from clarification on the pulp process. The use of dregs waste of the mortar mixture is expected to reduce the solid waste problems in the pulp and paper industry. On this research, dregs were added with 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% compared to cement weight. The ratio between cements and sands was 1:3. The specimen was made total 90 samples, the size of specimen is 5x5x5 cm. Preliminary test on the based materials such as sand and dregs was attended to verify the materials characteristic that was used on the mortar process. Then, the compressive strength, absorption, porosity, and specific gravity tests were conducted. Average result of compressive strength evaluation at age 7 days for the usage of dregs 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% respectively were 14,748 MPA, 13,430 MPa, 13,216 MPa, 12,435 MPa, and 3,638 MPa. Average result of compressive strength evaluation at age 14 days for the usage of dregs 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% respectively were 14,918 MPa, 14,723 MPa, 14,577 MPa, 14,134 MPa, and 4,040 MPa. Average result of compressive strength evaluation at age 28 days for the usage of dregs 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% respectively were 15,253 MPa, 14,945 MPa, 14,745 MPa, 14,570 MPa, and 5,437 MPa. The high compressive strength was obtained for this mortar if the absorption, porosity are small and the high specific gravity.
