    PENGARUH FAKTOR LINGKUNGAN TERHADAP STRUKTUR KOMUNITAS MANGROVE DI BANDAR BAKAU DUMAI

    Mangroves are an important ecosystem for costal areas in Pangkalan Sesai Village, Dumai City. Excessive use by the community or disturbance caused by natural factors can threaten the existence of mangrove forests. This study aimed to determine the effect of environmental factors on the structure of mangrove community in Bandar Bakau Dumai using the purposive sampling method by making three transects observation. The data taken included mangrove species, tree diameter, tree height and secondary data (pH, salinity and rainfall). This study showed that environmental factors ware in the normal category and indicated their suitability for the growth and distribution of mangrove community structures.
