Indra, FitriWati1, Hamizi2, Otang Kurniaman3 Abstrac Teaching learning Model Problem Based On Introduction (PBI) is a learning based on the problem which its to increase students’ know ledge and could increase students motivation in studying, students involved to the study activities so that their knowledge really absorbed well, trained to get cooperative to the other students, and students could get information from various sources. This research aimed to increase the result of fifty grade students of SDN 010 Pulau Deras Pangean which amounts to 22 people. The problem formulation is whether the application of the learning model Problem Based on Introduction (PBI) can improve the abilityto understand fiction grade V students of SDN 010 Pulau Deras Pangean Sub-district Kuantan Singingi Regency. This thesis present the students result which be obtained from initial data, first test cycle results and second test cycles results. on preliminary dataon average39.09% for first cycle with the average 56,36 and second cycle with average 78,18. Averages coresincreased from the base tocycle 1 is 17,27, from cycle 1 to cycle 2 21,82%. Results of data analysis of activities of students and teachers during cycle 1 first meeting the average is 53,57% category is quite, second meeting the average is 64,28 category is well. At cycle2 first meeting 78,57 (well category), second meeting 92,82 (very well category). While teacher activities in fostering the learning process for cycle1 first meeting 57,14, second meeting 67,85 (well category). Cycle2 first meeting the average is 78,57 well category, second meeting 92,82 (very well category). The research result in grade V students of SDN 010 Pulau Deras Pangean Sub-district Kuantan Singingi Regency with application ofthe learning model Problem Based on Introduction (PBI) can improve the ability to understand fiction Grade V students of SDN 010 Pulau Deras Pangean Sub-district Kuantan Singingi Regency.
