Item An Improvement of Carcass Quality of Harvested Cage Cultured Catfish (Mystus nemurus) by Increasing Protein Level in the Diets(2016-03-31) Hasan, Bustari; Suharman, Indra; Desmelati; Iriani, DianTwo diets containing 40% protein, P/E ratio 1.30 g/kcal (high protein) and 34% protein, P/E 1.07 g/kcal (low protein), which produced the best growth at our previous experiment, were fed to Mystus catfish to determine their carcass quality. The fish ranging from 40.14 g to 42.64 g in size was grown in commercial fish cages (4x4x1.5 m) at a density of 50 fish per m3 for 90 days. The fish were fed the experimental diets at libitum twice daily, at 9.00 and 16.00. The harvested fish was evaluated for carcass quality characteristics and growth performance. Edible flash, dressing percentage and water holding capacity of harvested fish were higher for the fish fed higher protein diet than that for lower protein diet (P<0.05); but carcass waste was higher for the fish fed lower protein diet than that for higher protein diet (P<0.05). There was no significant different in hematosomatic index between the two fish groups (P>0.05). Proximate composition of the harvested fish was significantly different between fish fed higher and lower protein diet, except moisture. Protein and ash composition was higher for fish fed higher protein diet than that fed lower protein diet (P<0.05), however, fat composition was higher for the fish fed lower protein diet than for that fed higher protein diet (P<0.05). The fish fed higher protein diet consumed less feed but more protein (P<0.05); however, feed and protein efficiency as well as protein retention were not different between the two fish groups (P>0.05). Weight gain was higher for fish fed lower protein diet but protein gain was higher for fish fed higher protein diet (P>0.05).Item Pemanfaatan Bahan Baku Alternatif Sebagai Sumber Protein Dalam Pakan Untuk Memacu Pertumbuhan Benih Ikan Baung (Mystus nemurus CV)(2015-04-16) Suharman, Indra; Asiah, NurPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui persentase tepung eceng gondok terfermentasi yang terbaik dalam formulasi pakan untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan efisiensi pakan ikan baung. The levels o f substitution of F M by S B M were 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% o f dietary protein, respectively (Diets A . B, C , D and E. respectively). The diets were formulated to contain 35%) protein. Diets were fed to experimental fish twice daily at a feeding rate o f 10%) body weigh: per day for 56 days. A substitution level of 25%) (diet B) resulted in the highest absolutely growth rate, specific growth rate, feed efficiency, and protein retention. Based on the evaluation of these parameters, it is concluded that defatted soybean meal (SBM) can substitute 25% o f the protein for fish meal in the diets of freshwater catfish {Mysliis ricmiinis C V ) .Item Preliminary Study on the Reproduction of Geso (Hemibagrus wyckii, Bagridae ) Fish from Kampar Kanan River, Indonesia(2016-08-28) Aryani, Netti; Suharman, Indra; Hasibuan, SaberinaHemibagrus wyckii is one of vulnerable Bagridae species that inhabit the Kampar Kanan Rivers, Riau, Indonesia. A preliminary study on the reproduction of the H. wyckii has been conducted from April to August 2015 in order to determine the reproductive aspects of this fish. The number of fishes sampled was 45. The fish was captured by fishermen using fishing lines. Parameters measured were total length (cm), body weight (g), sex and reproductive condition of the fish, including gonadal maturity stages, fecundity, egg diameter, and spawning type. The eggs were preserved in Gilson solution and the diameter was measured. The fecundity was calculated using a gravimetric method. Results obtained shown that 36 males (TL 42.9 to 65.2 cm and BW 961-2,898 g) and 9 females (TL 56.4 to 79.2 and BW of 1,910 to 4,710 grams) were captured. Gonadal Somatic Index of the male ranged from 0.6 to 2.00% and that of the female was 0.88-3.97%. The fecundity range from 3,876-9,588 eggs and the egg diameter was range from 1.04-2.81 mm. Data obtained indicate that the type of the oocyte development of H.wyckii is asynchronies with partial spawning.Item Teknologi Pengangkutan Induk Ikan Jambal Siam (Pangasius hypopthalmus) Hidup Tanpa Media Air(2015-07-29) Pamukas, Niken Ayu; Suharman, IndraPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan suhu pembiusan, waktu pembiusan, dan suhu penyimpanan terbaik yang mampu mempertahankan kelangsungan hidup ikan Jambal Siam (Pangasius hypophthalmus) di dalam media bukan air selama transportasi.
