Nipah Trees is abundant found in this location. In directly, epiphytic diatom composition attached with Nipah Trees will be affected by river environtment. The aim of this research is to describe the composition of epiphytic diatom on Nipah Trees from several area at Dumai River Estuary. Epiphytic diatom sampel was collected by scrapping 5 x 5 cm on Nipah Trees from 5 station (from river mouth to river body) on July 2011. Water quality parameter was also meseured in the same time when diatom collected. Thirteen species (Actinocyclus ehrenbergi, Bacillaria paradoxa, Biddulphia granulata, Biddulphia reticulata, Coscinodiscus sp, Licmophora abbreviate, Melosira sp, Navicula sp, Pleurosigma sp, Rhizosolenia alata, Skeletonema costatum, Thalassiothrix frauenfeldii, Triceratum reticulum) were found at Dumai River Estuary. Morever, The number of diatom species were 3 species at mouth river estuary and was only 1 species at river body. The abundance of epiphytic diatom on Nipah Trees along Dumai River Estuary ranged from 1634 to 6536 cells/cm2. The highest abundance of epiphytic diatom was found at the mouth river estuary and was gradually tended to decrease toward river body. Beside that values of water quality parameters were varied along the river estuary, with Salinity ranged was from 1 to 24 ppt, pH was 4,8 to 7,Total Solid Suspence was 30 to 143 ppm, Current was 0.02 to 0.72, BOD5 was 4.2 to 9.0 ppm and COD was 10.8 to 43.2 ppm . Based on number and abundance spesies, water quality parameters that affected the composition of epiphytic diatom was currentItem POTENSI SOSIAL EKONOMI EKOSISTEM MANGROVE DI KABUPATEN BENGKALIS(2019-11) Mashur, Dadang; Sujianto, Sujianto; Siregar, Sofyan Husein; Putra, Ridwan MandaThe socioeconomic potential of the mangrove ecosystem is huge, as is the mangrove ecosystem in Bengkalis Regency. Mangrove ecosystem is a buffer and has a multifunctional. Physically, mangroves have an important role in protecting the coast from waves, winds, storms, keeping the coastline stable, preventing abrasion and intrusion, accelerating land expansion and protecting river banks and beaches. Ecologically, the mangrove ecosystem acts as a life support system for a variety of aquatic organisms and terrestrial organisms including the place of fish seeds, shrimp and shellfish, habitat for various birds, and other biota, as a nursery ground, feeding ground, and selter area. Socially and economically, mangrove ecosystems are the source of livelihoods of coastal communities including ponds, wood and non-timber forest products. In addition, mangrove ecosystems contribute to controlling global climate through carbon sequestration. This study uses qualitative methods by conducting in-depth interviews or in-depth interviews. The results found that the mangrove ecosystem in Bengkalis Regency has a value of direct use, value of indirect use, value of choice, value of existence and value of potential mangrove resources to be cultivatedItem TATA KELOLA KAWASAN MANGROVE TERINTEGRASI DALAM PERSPEKTIF GOVERNANCE DI INDONESIA KAJIAN TEORITIS DAN EMPIRIS(Elfitra, 2023-01) Mayarni, Mayarni; syahza, Almasdi; Siregar, Sofyan Husein; Khoiri, M. Amrul; Nasution, Mimin Sundari; Sulistyani, Andri; Hariyani, EkaMangrove adalah salah satu sumber daya yang mempunyai fungsi ekonomi, ekologis, dan fungsi fisik di wilayah pesisir. Item u GAMBARAN DIATOM PADA SUNGAI BANGKO KABUPATEN ROKAN HILIR SEBAGAI PENUNJANG DIAGNOSIS IDENTIFIKASI LOKASI KORBAN MATI TENGGELAM(2013-07-27) Ridwan; Dedi Afandi; Siregar, Sofyan HuseinThe purpose of the judical process in the Medicine Forensic Science was to diagnose on a drowning case. One of the process was the diatom examination. The diatom examination could be done on the sample of lungs tissue, kidney, hepar, small intestine, duodenum and bone marrow. The function of this diatom examination was to confirm whether the victim’s death because of he drowning or other reasons and to identify the diatom within the dead body then compared to the diatom in the territorial waters prior to confirm the location where the accident occured. This reseach was held in March 2013 in Bangko river Rokan hilir district. Based on this reseach there were four types of diatom found out namely Aulacoseira sp, Diatoma sp, Nitzcshia sp, and Isthmia sp. The lowest abundance was in the station I where one type of diatom where Aulacoseira sp (720 cells/L) found, while the highest abundance was found in the station II where Aulacoseira sp, diatoma sp, and Nitzschia sp (1520 cells/L) included within. In the station III was found the type of diatom and abundance (720 cells/L) where Aulacoseira sp, diatoma sp, and Isthmia sp were included within it.
