Item The Effectiveness Of Yoga To Decrease Blood Pressure In Elderly With Hypertension In Tresna Werdha Khusnul Khotimah Nursing Homes Pekanbaru(2016-01-12) Fahmi, Muhammad Muzakir; Sari, Siska MayangUncontrolled hypertension increase the incidence of stroke disease by 7 times, congestive heart failure by 6 times, and heart attack by 3 times. About 74% elderly in Indonesia who from chronic hypertension consumed pharmacological medicine during their life that had some adverse effects. Therefore, nonpharmacological intervention such as simple yoga exercise can prevent the complications in elderly. The objective of this research was to find out the The effectiveness of yoga to decrease blood pressure in elderly with hypertension in Tresna Werdha Khusnul Khotimah Nursing Homes Pekanbaru. The research design was quasi-experimental research by using pretestposttest design with control group. Total sample were 34 respondents by using purposive sampling. The research used univariat and bivariate analysis by using wilcoxson test to find out pretest result of experimental and control group, mann-whitney test to find out posttest result of experimental and control group. The results showed that the difference between systole blood pressure before (pretest) and after (posttest) of experimental group was significant with p-value 0,000 and diastole with p-value 0,000. Results also showed that mean rank systolic experimental group was 21,40 mmHg and 14,42 mmHg in control group with p-value 0,043 (<0,05), while that mean rank of diastolic experimental group was 21,60 mmhg and 14,26 mmHg to the control group with p-value 0,033 (<0,05). It can be concluded that yoga intervention effective toward decreasing of blood pressure in elderly with hypertension. This research recommends that yoga can be used as a therapy to decrease blood pressure in elderly with hypertension.Item Identification Of Learning Style Of Competence Based Curriculum Of Nursing Departement Students In Hang Tuah Pekanbaru Health Science School(2015-06-20) Sari, Siska Mayang; Kristiani, DaraNowadays, Indonesian educational institutions were led to use Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) to produce high quality of human resources. Nursing Department of Hang Tuah Pekanbaru Health Science School (STIKES Hang Tuah Pekanbaru) has implemented CBC since academic year 2013/2014. It was referred to the theory of Faye Glenn Abdellah in relation to market needs. Teaching method used in CBC is Student Centered Learning (SCL) in which students should be more active in finding all information about learning topic independently. It is further to describe students’ learning style. The aim of this study was then to identify students’ learning style of using CBC in Nursing Department of STIKES Hang Tuah Pekanbaru. This research used descriptive quantitative to 116 samples (students) who applied CBC in the academic year 2013/2014 in which the researcher used total sampling as the sampling technique. Instrument used was questionnaire consisting 24 questions. In analyzing the data, the researcher used frequency distribution. In the finding, the researcher found that 45.2% students used visual learning style, 40.9% used auditory learning style and 13.9% used kinesthetics learning style. Derived from the finding, it is suggested that lecturer should ideally consider students’ learning style in teaching using SCL method. Also, suggestion was addressed to school management to provide a sufficient facilities to support teaching and learning process.
