Item Penggunaan Model “Group Investigation” Untuk Meningkatkan Minat Belajar Siswa Kelas VIII Di MTS Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru(2013-02-07) Rahmi, WitriThis study set in the background because until now our education is still dominated by the view that knowledge as a tool of facts to be memorized. Classes are focused on the teacher as the main source of knowledge, then a lecture and expect students to sit, stay, listen, record, and memorized (3DCH) and pitted students from one another, the top choice of learning strategies. He did not need to know about the process of learning the right. He just needs to know what poured into an empty bottle ready to receive it. Many teachers still consider the old paradigm as the only alternative. Now arises the question whether it is actually learning? How is a good way to learn?. Then the action research conducted with the use of group investigation that aims to determine the class VIII student interest MTs Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru. Research conducted in the eighth grade by the number of students 30 students with 18 men and 12 women. Research is also conducted in two cycles, and each cycle one meeting. The variables of study include the activities of teachers in the use of methods of investigation group and student interest. The data were collected using the observation sheet made observers. The results showed that the activity of teachers in the first cycle of 47.5%, student activity reached 50.4%, while 50.6% interest in learning. In the second cycle activities gurumeningkat 65%, 89.6% of student learning activities, while learning interest increased to 88.9%. Based on the above data it can be said that an increase in interest in learning social studies class VIII siswadalam MTs Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru using the investigative group. Conclusion from the research is the use of group methods of investigation can increase student interest in social studies class VIII MTs Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru. Investigation group learning methods can also increase the activity and spirit of the students in the learning process.
