Item STRUKTUR ANATOMI BATANG KELEMBAK (Rheum officinale Baill.)(2021-01) Nurhasanah, Nurhasanah; Iriani, DyahRhubarb (Rheum officinale Baill.) is a species that belongs to Polygonaceae family. Rhubarb has long been used in the traditional medicine. The metabolites contained in rhubarb are rhein, emodin, chrysophanol and flavonoids. Anatomical characteristics can describe the microscopic structure of a plant. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the anatomical structure of the rhubarb stem through its anatomical characteristics. The stem used was 1-1.5 years old, which was cut 1 cm from the end and 7 μm thickness. The preparations were stained using double staining, 1% safranin in water and 0.5% fast green in 95% alcohol. The result showed that secondary structure stem consisted of feloderm with relatively elongated round cells; the cortex is composed of parenchyma cells and had intercellular and pith that dominated the stem diameter; and performed an open collateral-type bundle.
