Item KARAKTERISASI MEMBRAN SELULOSA BAKTERI Acetobacter xylinum HASIL FERMENTASI DAGING KULIT BUAH SEMANGKA(2014-03-27) Frenando, R.; Dahliaty, A.; Linggawati, A.Bacterial cellulose is be used as membrane filtration. This research was conducted to produce bacterial cellulose by using various concentrations of watermelon rind in the fermentation medium (30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, and 70%). The bacterial cellulose were produced then characterized for their morphology, functional groups, and selectivity analysis. Our result showed that the surface of the bacterial cellulose membrane and formed interwoven structure of microfibrils cellulose. The Cross-sectional observations of cellulose membrane showed many layers of bacterial cellulose with irregular pore and the layer had their own interbond. The FTIR spectra showed that the membrane has functional groups of C-H, O-H, C-O, C-O-C, and Pyranose which acted as specific functional groups of bacterial cellulose. These findings indicated that bacterial cellulose membrane of 70% watermelon rind concentration had the optimum selectivity value in 72.43% rejection.Item KEMAMPUAN MEMBRAN HIBRID NILON 6,6-KAOLIN UNTUK MENGURANGI INTENSITAS WARNA AIR GAMBUT(2013-07-20) Astuti, D.; Linggawati, A.; MuhdarinaNilon 6,6 -kaolin hybrid membrane is a combination of polymer (nylon 6,6) and inorganic compound (kaolin clay) prepared by phase inversion through immersion processes. This research has been done to determine the effectiveness of nylon 6,6- kaolin hybrid membrane in reducing the intensity of peat water color . The effectiveness of membrane can be known from membrane permeability and selectivity. Membrane permeability of nylon 6,6-kaolin hybrid was 2x10-5 mL/cm2s bar . Application of nilon 6,6-kaolin hybrid membrane for treating peat water color at various pressures showed a good membrane performance in reducing the intensity of the color ranges from 97-99%. Decrease in color intensity was the highest at a pressure of 1.5 bar . Nilon 6,6-kaolin hybrid membrane effectively was used in treatment peat water. Quality of membrane processed peat water is in compliance with clean air standards by PERMENKES No.492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010 about drinking water quality requirements.Item LEMPUNG CENGAR SEBAGAI SUMBER KOAGULAN CAIR UNTUK MENURUNKAN KADAR BOD DAN COD DALAM AIR GAMBUT(2013-05-02) Yulianti; Muhdarina; Linggawati, A.Liquid coagulant was prepared by extraction of Cengar clays by using sulfuric acid with the variations of acid concentration, extraction time and temperature. Liquid coagulant with a maximum content of Al and Fe are used to reduce the levels of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) in the peat water. The results of the coagulation processes were compared to Peraturan Pemerintah (PP) No. 82, 2001 for the management of water quality and water pollution control. The results showed that the liquid coagulant with a maximum content of Al (mg/L) and Fe (mg/L) are Al = 23.926; Fe = 34.993 (Al < Fe), Al = 29.368; Fe = 29.993 (Al ≈ Fe) and Al = 28.118; Fe = 26.818 (Al > Fe), respectively. Coagulation testing on BOD and COD content of peat water has been decreased (i) BOD (36.8%) and COD (66.67%) for the liquid coagulant Al < Fe, (ii) BOD (28.32%) and COD (50%) for Al ≈ Fe and (iii) BOD (24.13%) and COD (1.85%) for Al > Fe.
