Item EFEKTIFITAS TERAPI BEKAM TERHADAP PENURUNAN TEKANAN DARAH PADA PENDERITA HIPERTENSI PRIMER(2013-07-13) Jansen, SusianaThe aim of this research is to analize the effect of cupping therapy in reducing primary hypertension patients’s blood pressure. The research was conducted at the Pusat Pengobatan Al-Jawad, Kereta Api Street, Pekanbaru. The design used in this research was pre-experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design which consisted of only the experimental group. The sampling technique explored was purposive sampling with 15 hypertension patients which were selected based on inclusion criteria. Measuring instruments used are sphygmomanometer. Respondents were given the intervention with cupping therapy 1 time a week for 2 weeks. Data analysis applied in the research were univariate and bivariate by using dependent sample t test, independent sample t test, wilcoxon, and mann-whitney. The result showed that mean of blood pressure before cupping therapy was 166/96,67, while the mean of blood pressure after cupping therapy was 140/75,67. The result of the research indicated decrease of blood pressure after intervention given with P value = 0,000.
