Item KARAKTERISTIK FISIS DAN MEKANIS ABU SAWIT (PALM OIL FUEL ASH) DALAM GEOTEKNIK(2013-08-26) Yuliana, Rizqi; Muhardi; Ferry, FatnantaPOFA is an agrowaste ash which is produced from fibers, nut shells, and empty fruit bunches when burnt at temperatures of about 800-10000C in boiler. The production of POFA is rising every year, it is disposed for landfills, now become an important environmental disposal issue. A large area is required for the disposal of these POFA waste materials. The landfill of POFA is the problem for the palm oil industry when it is not reused for any work. POFA contains a large amount of silicon dioxide with high pozzolanic reactivity and has high potential to be used in any engineering work. This research examined POFA characteristics in geotechnical application and its influence by curing periods on 0, 7 and 28 days. In this paper, physical and mechanical characteristics of POFA in geotechnical work will be shown. The chemical composition of POFA prove the existence of SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3 and CaO as important substances supporting pozzolan reaction during cured. The result shows that the characteristic of POFA has similar behaviour with sands. Coefficient of permeability decreased during curing periods. Besides, cohesion shear strength, angle of friction, cohesion undrained, and CBR value are improve during curing periods.Item KORELASI HASIL UJI MACKINTOSH PROBE DENGAN KUAT GESER TANAH LUNAK(2013-03-30) Safitri, Rizka; Ferry, Fatnanta; Nugroho Soewignjo AgusThe Mackintosh Probe is a lightweight dynamic penetrometer and a considerably faster and cheaper than boring tool, particularly when the depth of exploration is moderate and the soils being investigated are soft. Popularity of this method in Indonesia is low. Therefore, correlation between Mackintosh Probe and shear strength rarely found for soft soil. On this research, field test and laboratory test were performed. The field test consist of Mackintosh Probe test, Vane Shear test and Hand Bore. Meanwhile, laboratory test consist of physical properties of soil such as water content, unit weight, plasticity and specific gravity were explored. Triaxial test was explored too. The data are arranged and analyzed for correlations. The result shows that the test specimen is organic material with highly water content. The correlation which was obtained from the result showed the relationship correlation between M and Su, M and c, M and ϕ also w and M. Triaxial test result showed a weak relationship than Vane Shear test result. This research shows that Mackintosh Probe not compatible for using in soft soil where located in coastal area.Item PENGARUH WAKTU TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KAPASITAS DUKUNG KELOMPOK TIANG PADA TANAH LUNAK(2012-12-03) Wardana, Razaq Arif Cakra; Ferry, Fatnanta; Agus, Nugroho SoewignjoTests by previous researchers have discovered phenomenon increasing significantly of axial capacity foundation on soft soil. In this final project researchers created a model of the group piles in soft soil and given time variations of pile driving. By keeping the soil moisture conditions in order to condition the soil shear strength does not change, it is hoped the results of this study demonstrate and produce an increase in the amount of the axial bearing capacity of pile. The results of direct testing and interpretation of the results showed a significant increase until the end of the age of Pile Driving (68 days). At the age of 68 days, the pile axial capacity increased by an average 50.2% of the age of piling on one day. The study also produced an increase in the time factor (Δ10) that can be used in the empirical formula found by previous researchers.Item PRAKIRAAN NILAI KUAT GESER TANAH LUNAK BERDASARKAN PENGUJIAN MACKINTOSH PROBE(2013-03-30) Rosyida, Hawmar; Ferry, Fatnanta; Agus, Nugroho SoewignjoSoil investigations are carried out in the field to get a true geotechnical analysis. Various kinds of testing tools are designed to simplify the work of investigation, one of which is the Mackintosh Probe. However, the use of Mackintosh Probe is less popular in Indonesia. The device has advantages, such as easy to use, light, requires no calibration, and requires a relatively low cost when compared to other soil strength testing. However, it also has drawbacks. Data obtained from the test results are in the form of number of blows and depth, making it difficult to be applied in further calculation of soil. This research was conducted to determine the shear strength value of soft soil based on Mackintosh Probe testing, by creating correlation value between Mackintosh Probe testing with shear strength (cu, φ) from triaxial testing and Mackintosh Probe with field vane shear test (Su). The tests were carried out in 35 points. Field trials were conducted in Siak District, Riau, with locations spread out in several villages located not far from the river. Based on the research conducted, test results show that the value of Mackintosh Probe testing is directly proportional to the value of Su, if the value of Mackintosh Probe is great, then the value of Su is also increasing. Whereas the correlation value between Mackintosh Probe testing and cu and φ reveals no positive data connection.Item STUDI FAKTOR PENYEBAB GERUSAN SALURAN ERODIBLE CHANNEL PADA DAERAH YANG DIPENGARUHI PASANG SURUT (Studi Kasus Jalan Sriwijaya Desa Teluk Pambang)(2013-01-09) Jalilah; Siswanto; Ferry, FatnantaIn the village TelukPambang, type of drainage is still a lot of erodible channel can be found as channel type is considered economical and easy to manufacture. One drainage is directly influenced by tidal scour, so the potential to occur. General scour an erosive properties of water that occurs in a natural channel or river, instead of the effect of the existence of a building just as bridge abutments and others. At this time the cause of scours is limited to hypotheses that have not been explained scientifically by a study. The study was conducted by measuring several parameters such as flow velocity, channel dimensions, slope and the energy difference between the cliffs and the water channels. Some samples to represent the channel indicated scour occurs and some more samples for the channel is still in a stable condition is taken to be tested in the lab to get the parameters of the soil shear strength and shear angle in the soil samples.
